Addison Rae crawled out of the algorithm and into the pop trenches, shedding TikTok glitter for something messier, weirder, and - against all odds - actually good. The moment she stopped chasing the For You page and started chasing hooks, the whole thing clicked. We caught her at Madison Square Garden tagging along with Charli XCX during the post-BRAT hysteria, and yeah, she whiffed a high note hard enough to rattle the rafters. But who cares? The record lands where it counts.
Her debut plays like a sugary landmine: “Diet Pepsi” fizzes with undeniable bubblegum bite, “High Fashion” is full-tilt camp strut, and the whole album is built for cheap earbuds, nicotine breath, and late-night bus rides. This Louisiana export, overnight It Girl, accidental pop soldier... with her Nordic hit-factory partners Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd keep it tight: no guest spots, no filler, no cynical deluxe cash-ins. Just straight-up pop craftsmanship disguised as disposable fluff.
Addison makes it look stupidly easy - too easy, really. If this is what the new class of pop stars looks like, we could do a hell of a lot worse.
