Andrew Jackson Jihad "Christmas Island" LP

• The band's 2014 studio album, produced by John Congleton
• Combines folk-punk writing with a more developed electric band sound
• Includes Temple Grandin, Kokopelli Face Tattoo, and Linda Ronstadt

For fans of: The Mountain Goats, Jeff Rosenstock, and The Taxpayers.

Christmas Island gives Andrew Jackson Jihad's sharply drawn lyrics a bigger, more colorful musical setting. Electric guitar, bass, and drums push the songs forward while the band's acoustic roots remain audible. Its strange images and candid emotional turns are matched by strong, direct melodies.
