Bill Evans Trio "Portrait in Jazz" LP

• Recorded in 1959 with Scott LaFaro on bass and Paul Motian on drums
• A foundational recording of Evans' celebrated first trio
• Includes Autumn Leaves, Blue in Green, and Peri's Scope

For fans of: Keith Jarrett, Ahmad Jamal, and lyrical piano trio jazz.

Portrait in Jazz places melodic invention and conversational interplay at the center of the piano trio. Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian contribute more than accompaniment, responding closely to Bill Evans' phrasing and harmonic movement. The result is a quietly dynamic collection of standards and original material.
