Head Over Heels deepens the Cocteau Twins' movement from stark post-punk toward their own shimmering sound world. Robin Guthrie's layered guitars and programmed rhythms surround Elizabeth Fraser's fluid, expressive voice. The album combines rougher textures with the melodic radiance that became the group's signature.
