White Pony gives Deftones' heavy sound a wider emotional and textural range. Guitars can feel suspended or crushing, while Frank Delgado's electronic details add depth around Chino Moreno's shifting delivery. The songs use space and restraint to build pressure, making their most forceful moments feel like part of the atmosphere rather than interruptions to it.
