70s city pop cornerstone
Yamagata Sumiko’s 8th album
A 70s city pop cornerstone where Yasunori Sorimachi’s mellow groove melts into crystal-clear vocals.
This is Yamagata Sumiko’s 8th album and her final original album for Nippon Columbia, with all arrangements handled by Yasunori Sorimachi, who was crafting world-class “Jim Rock” sound at the time. From the comfortable mellow groove of Horoyoi Eve and Ano Hi no Yo ni Hohoende to the rich emotion painted with a light rhythm on Ameagari no Samba, the tracklist is flawless from start to finish. Light-mellow sonics and transparent vocals blend into an essential work of 70s city pop.
