Infinity on High broadens Fall Out Boy's sound through rhythmic variety, layered vocals and arrangements that can shift quickly from a compact verse into a large chorus. Patrick Stump's phrasing gives the dense lyrics a strong melodic shape, while the band keeps the songs moving with precision. The record balances its polished surfaces with an underlying sense of restless energy.
