Glass Animals' second studio album, released in 2016.
Character-focused songs draw on stories gathered while touring.
Includes Life Itself, Youth, Pork Soda, and The Other Side of Paradise.
For fans of: alt-J, Portugal. The Man, and rhythmically detailed indie pop.
How to Be a Human Being gives each song a distinct character while retaining Glass Animals' springy rhythms and carefully layered production. Dave Bayley's melodies sit among small samples, elastic bass parts, and bright keyboard colors. The album connects its individual stories through a shared musical atmosphere, balancing playful surfaces with a more complicated emotional undertow.
