Joe Henderson “Page One” (Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition) LP

Page One puts the focus on tenor saxophone, post-bop harmony, rhythmic sophistication, and adventurous small-group writing.

• Henderson's debut as a leader features Kenny Dorham, McCoy Tyner, Butch Warren, and Pete La Roca.
• Dorham's “Blue Bossa” became a jazz standard, while Henderson's own writing shows the angular phrasing and rhythmic intelligence that marked his early style.
• The album remains one of the most durable hard-bop debuts of the 1960s.

For fans of Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, and Freddie Hubbard.
