John Lennon “John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band” (SHM-CD) CD

• Japanese SHM-CD edition of John Lennon's 1970 solo album.
• Includes "Mother," "Working Class Hero" and "God."
• Direct, spare arrangements keep the voice, piano and guitar close to the listener.

For fans of: The Beatles, Neil Young, George Harrison

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band strips the arrangements back until the emotional weight rests on the singing and the shape of the songs. A small ensemble can sound gentle, harsh or almost unbearably exposed, often within a few measures. Lennon's changes in tone make the record feel immediate, with its quietest passages carrying as much force as its most urgent performances.
