John Prine "In Spite of Ourselves" LP

• Prine's 1999 collection of country duets
• Features Iris DeMent, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, and other guests
• Includes the title duet with Iris DeMent

For fans of: George Jones, Iris DeMent, and classic country duets.

In Spite of Ourselves finds John Prine sharing the microphone with a remarkable cast of country singers. Familiar songs about imperfect relationships gain warmth through the contrast between his rough-edged delivery and his partners' voices. The title song adds Prine's own affectionate, irreverent humor to the tradition.
