Johnny Cash brings a storyteller's sense of gravity to this selection of holiday recordings. Familiar songs, spoken narratives and devotional material sit comfortably together because the voice remains direct and unadorned. The collection's changes in arrangement and period add variety while preserving the feeling of someone addressing the listener personally, with warmth and an unmistakable sense of conviction.
