Randy Rhoads' guitar work pairs intricate lead lines with memorable heavy riffs.
For fans of: Black Sabbath, Dio, Judas Priest
Diary of a Madman sets Ozzy Osbourne's instantly recognizable melodies against Randy Rhoads' detailed, dramatic guitar writing. The songs can move from direct hard-rock momentum into darker, more elaborate passages without losing their shape. Acoustic colors and carefully paced changes in intensity widen the record's atmosphere, making the heaviest sections feel part of a larger unfolding story.
