These early versions float between subconscious sketches and full-throated declarations, with Chris Cornell’s voice already sounding like it’s clawing its way out of some emotional furnace. The songs are recognizably Superunknown—“Black Hole Sun,” “Fell on Black Days,” "4th of July” - but delivered with a smeared, fever-dream immediacy, as if the recording can barely contain the ideas forming inside it. It’s less a demo in the industry sense and more a glimpse into a band pushing at the walls of their own sound, unsure of what they’re about to become, and all the more powerful for it.
