Alienation builds its hard-rock attack around the interaction of two lead singers, giving Three Days Grace another way to shape its familiar tension and release. Heavy riffs and tightly defined rhythms support songs about disconnection and resilience. The vocal exchanges add contrast to the verses and weight to the broad, emphatic choruses throughout the record.
