Christmas Eve and Other Stories connects seasonal melodies to a dramatic rock setting, using narration, instrumental passages and contrasting voices to carry its story. The arrangements can swell to a large scale, but the recurring themes keep the sequence connected. Its mixture of familiar holiday material and original songs gives the album both an accessible entry point and a theatrical arc.
