Tchic Tchic: French Bossa Nova 1963-1974 explores the French side of bossa nova, pairing Brazilian rhythmic influence with chanson, jazz, and 1960s pop.

  • This compilation traces the French embrace of bossa nova across 22 tracks from the 1960s and 1970s.
  • The set reaches from chanson singers and film personalities to jazz-bossa hybrids, with artists including Isabelle Aubret, Marpessa Dawn, Jean Constantin, and Magali Noël.
  • The music shows how Brazilian bossa nova's soft samba pulse and jazz harmony were reshaped through French pop and chanson.

For fans of João Gilberto, Pierre Barouh, and French ye-ye and bossa collectors.
