This edition is the third pressing of R.M.F.C.’s debut album Club Hits.
The Sydney group’s wiry post-punk draws on the clipped momentum of Wire.
For fans of: Wire, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Uranium Club, and Ausmuteants.
The third pressing of Sydney-based R.M.F.C.'s classic debut LP, Club Hits. For those who read these things without listening first, you might ask: what does this R.M.F.C. sound like? If you could say anything about post punk it means post-Wire, who were past punk before punk had an opportunity to codify and become brilliant and stupid. Few bands manage to sound like all three Wire records, but R.M.F.C. are a Rock Music Fan Club. Anyone paying attention to underground Australian guitar overdose would relate: the R.M.F.C. Club Hits LP has been the culmination of five years of work, patience and discipline. If you've heard these songs live at any of their shows over the past couple of years you'll understand -- the wait is over and the result is exhilarating. Thinking of bands like Royal Headache, Dick Diver, and Eddy Current Suppression Ring, there's even been a fairly recent tradition of expanding styles of rock and roll (let alone the bigger, famous rock-centered acts). The Sydney based R.M.F.C., and the scene (or friend circle) from which it's emerging, is carrying a torch of rock music which has the potential of a wider appeal. Written, recorded and mixed by Buz in Burrill Lake and Sydney between January 2022 and April 2023. Mastered by Mikey Young. Painting by Oscar Sulich. Photos by Michael Vasila.
